Stress tests and EKGs answer an important question: how is the heart performing right now? A CCTA (coronary CT angiography) answers a different one: what does the artery wall itself look like — including softer, non-calcified plaque that performance tests aren't designed to show. No single test tells the whole story, and only a physician can say which one is right for you.
